With the growth of the iPad as a navigation aid for recreational boaters (see our feature Use your iPad as a chart plotter), it’s important to know that your expensive little gadget is protected - and with the advent of a new trio of protective devices, that has now been made much easier.

For a start, there is iBallz (recently featured on Channel 5’s ‘The Gadget Show’). Priced at just £19.99, it uses four soft shock-absorbing balls in its construction, easily fitted to the corners of your iPad to protect it from drops and shocks.

Then there is the iBallz Hard Case - a lightweight moulded carrying case, designed for use in conjunction with iBallz, adding extra protection when out and about thanks to its hard nylon-wrapped shell and faux fur lining (£29.99).

And finally, there is the iPad Aqua Case (pictured). Priced at £34.99, it is a fully waterproof case that also guards against sand, dust and snow, making it the ideal accessory for the active do-it-all boater and watersports fan. Its touch-sensitive skin means it remains fully functional, even when protected inside the case. For details on all three products, visit Monsterstuff
